Our Attorneys
Mitchell Mender
Founding Partner
Mitchell received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and then graduated from Vermont Law School in their accelerated juris doctorate program. He started his career as a prosecutor with the Ninth Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Clovis, NM and was awarded prosecutor of the year in 2018 and 2019.
With over a thousand cases prosecuted and an over ninety percent success rate at trial, Mitch later chose to become a public defender where he used his experience to represent his clients and protect their rights. Ultimately, this path led him to open the Law Offices of Larsen and Mender.
Mitch serves on the New Mexico Board of Bar Commissioners and the Board of Directors for the Hartley House – the local domestic violence shelter. He and his wife Robyn enjoy traveling and spending time with their three children.


Taylor Larsen
Founding Partner
When it comes to addressing clients’ legal concerns, Taylor Larsen believes in taking a holistic approach. He knows the ideal solution should look at the whole person, not just the legal issue at hand.
Taylor is bilingual and can communicate regarding legal concerns in both English and Spanish.
Taylor graduated from the University of Utah in 2017 where he received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
He then graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU where he served on the boards of both the Trial Advocacy Team and the Journal of Public Law. Taylor began his career at the Ninth Judicial District Attorney’s Office where he handled a wide variety of criminal cases from DUI’s to drug trafficking.
Taylor enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and playing pickleball.
Our Team
Matthew Rowland
Associate Attorney
Matthew (“Matt”) Rowland is originally from Asheville, North Carolina. After High School, Matt graduated Cum Laude from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in History. In 2006, Matt graduated from Western Michigan University, Cooley Law School with a Juris Doctorate. Matt began his legal career at New Mexico Legal Aid as a Staff Attorney. Two years later, he became a Managing Attorney and managed the organization’s Clovis and Roswell field offices.
Matt is very active in community outreach, and is committed to providing either direct or indirect assistance to as many low-income New Mexicans as possible. He has been practicing law for thirteen years, and has represented clients in almost every Judicial District in New Mexico. Outside of the law, Matt enjoys spending time with family and music.


Robyn Mender
Pre-Litigation Paralegal
Robyn earned her degree in Criminal Justice from Eastern New Mexico University and enjoys putting her education and experience to work to make a positive difference for others. She’s known for her attention to detail, friendly personality, and genuine dedication to helping clients feel supported during challenging times.
Robyn Mender is the firm’s pre-litigation paralegal. She focuses on personal injury, auto accidents, medical malpractice, and civil matters, helping clients navigate the process with care and understanding.
When she’s not at work, Robyn loves spending time with her husband and three kids, baking new recipes, and relaxing with a good book
Sheridan Wheat
Office Manager – Roswell
Family Law Paralegal
Sheridan Wheat is passionate about making every client feel heard, supported, and understood. With fourteen years of experience as a Paralegal, she brings both compassion and expertise to her work. She finds purpose in helping individuals and families navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges.
Her background spans Family Law, Criminal Law, and Children’s Court with the Children, Youth & Families Department (CYFD). Known for her efficiency and attention to detail, she combines her strong legal knowledge with a client-centered philosophy that ensuring each client receives the care and dedication they deserve.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her son—proudly cheering him on at the baseball field—and playing with her dog, Charlie.


Annabell Montoya
Office Manager – Clovis
With decades of experience in legal administration, Annabell brings seasoned insight, steady leadership, and a deep commitment to excellence in every aspect of the firm’s operations.
Annabell is happy to help in English or Spanish as she assists clients through appointment scheduling and other logistical needs.
Known for her calm demeanor and sharp organizational skills, Annabell ensures that the office runs smoothly, attorneys are supported, and clients feel welcomed from the moment they walk through the door. She has a strong passion for the law and a deep love for teamwork and meaningful service.
Outside the office, Annabell enjoys spending quality time with family, which continues to inspire her dedication to creating a supportive and balanced workplace.
Stefanie Bustos
Paralegal
Stefanie Bustos is a dedicated paralegal that supports the firm in family law, criminal law, civil law, and probate law. Her detail-oriented approach and commitment to clients helps advance the firm’s mission of providing effective legal representation.
Stefanie is bilingual and works in both English and Spanish for our clients.
Stefanie earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eastern New Mexico University and later completed her paralegal studies at Clovis Community College. She is also an active member of the State Bar of New Mexico Paralegal Division.
Her friendly and empathetic nature, bolster Stefanie’s passion about helping clients navigate challenging times with understanding and professionalism.
Outside of work, Stefanie enjoys cooking, sewing, reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband and children.


Rita Herrera
Litigation Paralegal
Rita is a native of Fort Sumner, New Mexico, and a dedicated professional with a diverse educational and career background. After earning an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from New Mexico Military Institute, Rita went on to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Eastern New Mexico University. Currently, she is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Legal Assistant Studies at Clovis Community College.
With ten years of experience at the Ninth Judicial District Court, Rita has gained valuable expertise in the legal field. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her wife and five pets, two dogs and three cats. A passionate reader and TV show enthusiast, Rita also spends time learning to crochet, exploring new hobbies, and staying curious about the world around her.
